School is out!

My course is officially o-ver! Woot Woot! So now I have 4 weeks to cram in as much reading, scrapping, card making, shopping, socializing, christmasing and wedding planning as I possibly can. I do love the 3-4 weeks at the end of term where I have a bit more time to do some of things I love to do!

My Christmas shopping is almost done - just a few more things to pick up. My wrapping is mostly done too! I am making a final trip to the States (this year) next week to pick up the remaining bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal and finish my Christmas shopping. Can't wait for that - KOHL's here we come! Then it's some Christmas baking for our cookie exchange at work.

Lots of fun things to look forward to in the next few weeks and then family time over Christmas. Bruce will be home over Christmas so it will be nice to spend some time with him.

And today we're getting our first snow of the season! Enjoy!!

No I did not fall off the face of the Earth!

It was just a typical September! Work's crazy, school's crazy, life is just crazy! Throw in the wedding planning this year and there's been even less time!

Life is good though! I really like my on campus class which helps as it's from 7-9:50 at night, which makes for a long day. Now, I need to get cracking on my Distance Ed course - I haven't even opened my book - but I have an essay due October 26 (yes, I am starting to panic a bit now!). I have started swimming 3 days a week on my lunch hour and Jason & I recently traded in our bikes for our hiking boots for our morning commute. I love being able to walk and bike to work!

The only real excitement recently is that I have purchased my wedding dress! I have stalked a dress at a local store for a year....then I go to David's bridal to buy my shoes and come out loving another dress. I ordered it on Thanksgiving weekend, along with my veil and crinoline. I can't wait for October 24 when we head back to David's in Buffalo to order the remaining 2 bridesmaid dresses and for another dress try on for me! So exciting!! I can't say enough good things about David's Bridal and specifically my consultant Mary!! She's been amazing!

Okay, time to get cracking on my Legal Studies essay.

See you soon!

Back to Reality

Summer....gone already??
Wow - don't where it went....But since it's labour day, it's definitely o-ver!! Which for me means, back to reality. Back to school work, to exercising, to meal planning - pretty much, back to organized!!

I enjoyed my summer of disorganization, doing as much scrapbooking as I could, reading books for fun (as opposed to textbooks) and catching the occasional cat nap. Alas, that all ended today. Today I spent the day getting things organized for the upcoming week....4 loads of laundry washed and hung on the line, 4 loaves of bread made and a batch of spaghetti sauce. Next up is dinner - restaurant style steak, sweet potatoes and a veggie to be determined - the steak's already on the counter warming up. After dishes it's pizza dough and homemade hamburgers.

Next week, school starts again. I am enrolled in 2 courses this term which will severely cut into my scrapbooking time, but I am so close to my 3 yr degree I can almost taste it. I hope to graduate in June 2011, so I will need to take 2 courses to stay on track.

On an exciting note, our wedding plan is underway. We are officially getting married in Spain - and by officially I mean we have booked a wedding planner and sent a deposit in so there's no turning back now. We have our minister and our musician "reserved" and are working on flowers now. We are VERY excited!

Anyhow, steaks are calling my name....

This and that

It's been a month since I have blogged - where did that month go? Lots happened in that time.

I dropped the course I was taking - first time I haven't been enrolled in a course since Spring 2005.

I went to several scrapbooking classes at 2SF and I have learned at least one new trick at every class! Love that!

I spent a Monday lounging by my mom's pool reading a book instead of being at work. They made me - I had to use up some vacation days!

Several days were spent in Oakville at Jason's gramma's house, helping his parents and her prepare for her move to Kitchener. There has been lots to do at her place, but we are on the home stretch now. It will be nice when she's here in town.

Jason and I took a few days off at the end of June. Most of those days were spent cleaning, purging and decluttering our place. We were inspired by cleaning at his gramma's. It wasn't very holiday like, but totally worth it. By doing this, I know have my very own scrapbooking space = very exciting!

I made a few cards - some wedding ones and some thank you ones and "sold" my first one. Jason also used a few for some coworkers since he started his new job.
And lastly, we got a new kitten!!! His name is Alistair and he's so cute! Our vet knew we were looking for a furry friend for Anabella and they called us to say that someone had brought in a stray 7.5 week old kitten and asked if we were interested. We went to see him that night, fell in love and the next night we went to pick him up. There was some adjusting for Anabella, but things are fine now. We quite like our little A-team!!

While house sitting last week I had a chance to play with some of my new stamps. I purchased a few from stamping bella after seeing some cards Veronica made.

I like them - I see progress from the first cards I made, but they`re not fancy, not when you compare my cards to Karan's, Carolyn's or Joanne's. I hope that someday my cards are as detailed and as WOW as theirs!

House sitting

I meant to post these pics last week after we spent the long weekend house/dog sitting for my mom. We brought Anabella aka "wonder kitty" to my mom's with us since I had spooked her earlier in the week and didn't think it was a good idea for our high strung kitty to be without her meds for 3 days. With Vivian my mom's cat Abby the dog, it was interesting but we managed without any fights. In fact, Anabella was so at home, she tried to take over, eating everyone's food but her own. She took a big liking to Abby's dog food and we got the proof. She's a weird girl, but we like her

Woo Hoo - they did it! Bruce's team won 12-10 tonight over New York Titans. Very close game, it went back and forth, I was on the edge of my seat!

Bruce couldn't have played a better game - strong defense, some big hits and he even chipped in 2 goals and an assist. So happy for him, wish I could have been there!!

Roughnecks win!

I am soooo excited for my brother - his team won last night 17-5. The team played amazing, in fact, at the start of the fourth quarter they were leading 15-0- shutouts just don't happen in lacrosse - and to play for 45 minutes without giving up a goal, that's amazing! A huge win for the team and it I know it will give them confidence going into next week's championship game.

My mom, gramma, brother and Bruce's girlfriend Katie are all flying out to Calgary on Thursday. They will be at the game and will then spend a couple of days hanging out with Bruce before heading back home Monday. While I am a little sad that I won`t be going with them, Jase and I will dogsit at mom's house for the weekend and watch the game online on Friday night. Should be fun!

Go Necks Go!!

mixed bag

It's the start of term which means work is crazy busy. I like it though, the day flies by and I like that. I am taking 2 courses again this term and I had my first psych lecture last night. I think it will be a pretty good class and the content will expand on the Human Resources class I took last term. I have my books so everything seems to be in order for work and school.

And scrapbooking - I was able to scrapbook on NSD (last Friday)at Two Scrapbook Friends (my favourite scrapping place) and I had a blast. I went by myself, which does not bother me, but by the end of the night I had made several new friends - Lynn, Sam, Veronica, Lori, Michelle (who always wins), Deb and Andrea. There was lots of laughing, sharing of stories and oh, some scrapbooking too! I also walked away with some new ideas, one of which is Project 365. Fellow scrapbooker and blogger Sam is currently doing this and I think it's a great idea. The challenge is to take a picture every day for a year. Her blog is based on this and she has a little slideshow of her pics. I think it's an amazing idea and I may just have to jump on the bandwagon myself!

I will be posting my first scrapbook layout here soon (when I get my book back) as part of a "challenge" from Lynn, another new scrapbook friend. She posted hers and challenged Sam & I to do the same. Even though the page is only from last year when I first started scrappin', I do cringe when I look at it. But I guess I had to start somewhere....

The only other news can be found on my Camino blog. I am still waiting for final confirmation but it looks like Jason & I will be Camino-ing again!

Go Necks Go!!

Bruce's professional lacrosse team is playing against the Colorado Mammoth in the western semi-final. His team went 12-4 this season, finishing first in the NLL.

I am watching his game right now, sending good vibes!! Go Necks Go - beat those fuzzy elephants!!

Why another blog

I decided to create this blog to keep Kelly and the Camino, about the Camino. So this blog will be for our everday stuff. Beware, there will be lots of Anabella`s adventures!
